Kyle Busch was fastest in the first of two NASCAR Cup practices Friday at ISM Raceway in Avondale, Arizona.
Busch led the 39-driver field with a speed of 137.562 mph, followed by Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Denny Hamlin (137.478 mph).
Matt DiBenedetto was third-fastest (137.169 mph), followed by Joey Logano (137.075), Kyle Larson (137.049), Ryan Blaney (135.977), Clint Bowyer (135.818), Brad Keselowski (135.522), Kevin Harvick (135.425) and Paul Menard (135.333).
The other two remaining playoff drivers were Martin Truex Jr. (13th-fastest at 135.054 mph) and Chase Elliott (18th-fastest at 134.620 mph).
The final Cup practice session takes place later tonight from 7-7:50 p.m. ET and will be televised on NBCSN.
