Chase Elliott pulled off one of the biggest comebacks of the season — if not the last several years — roaring back from 37th place to win the final race of the opening NASCAR Cup playoff round.

Four drivers — Aric Almirola, Erik Jones, Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman — were eliminated as the playoffs move to the Round of 12 starting next Sunday at Dover International Speedway.

Even though he was involved in a late incident that left him with a 37th-place finish, regular season champion Kyle Busch is back atop the reseeded standings thanks primarily to the playoff points he’s earned to date. Busch leads Martin Truex Jr. by five points heading to Dover next week. Denny Hamlin is third (-16), followed by Joey Logano (-17), Kevin Harvick (-18) and Roval winner Chase Elliott (-22).

Seventh through 12th going into the Round of 12 are Brad Keselowski (-22), Kyle Larson (-40), Alex Bowman (-41), Ryan Blaney (-42), William Byron (-45) and Clint Bowyer (-46).
