Kevin Harvick wins the Brickyard 400 for the second time in his career, Clint Bowyer and Ryan Newman clinch the final playoff spots, and the NASCAR playoffs are officially around the corner.

It took 16 years, but Kevin Harvick joined the group of multi-race winners in the Brickyard 400 with his second career victory there in Sunday’s edition at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Defending NASCAR Cup champion Joey Logano finished second, followed by an outstanding run by Bubba Wallace, William Byron was fourth and Clint Bowyer clinched a spot in the playoffs by finishing fifth.

Also clinching the final playoff spot in the final playoff qualifying race was Ryan Newman. Failing to make the playoffs were Jimmie Johnson (involved in a crash) and Daniel Suarez (too little, too late).
