Championship 4 driver Joey Logano claimed the top speed in Saturday’s early Cup practice session at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
The Team Penske driver posted a speed of 169.609 mph around the 1.5-mile track. Logano was the only member of the Championship 4 in the top five.
Martin Truex Jr. was ninth (166.718 mph), Kyle Busch was 23rd (164.489) and Kevin Harvick was 28th (163.552).
The top five was completed by Aric Almirola, Denny Hamlin, Ryan Newman and Erik Jones.
Logano had the best 10-lap average at 163.995 mph.
Hamlin recorded the most laps overall at 46. Truex recorded the most of the Championship 4 with 43 laps.
