Kyle Larson fastest in final Cup practice at Dover

DOVER, Del. – Kyle Larson posted the fastest lap in Saturday’s final Cup practice at Dover International Speedway.

Larson led the way with a lap of 159.011 mph.

Larson also was the fastest in Friday’s practice session. Saturday morning’s practice was canceled by rain.

Larson was followed by Denny Hamlin (157.343 mph), Erik Jones (157.095), Aric Almirola (156.808) and Chase Elliott (156.556).

Playoff drivers were in eight of the top 10 spots. Alex Bowman ranked last among the 12 remaining playoff drivers. He was 22nd on the speed chart with a top lap of 154.832 mph.

Kevin Harvick had the best average speed over the 77 laps he ran in the session.

“I think we’re a close second to him,” Larson said of his car’s speed compared to Harvick’s car. “So far the weekend has gone well.”

Joey Logano ran the most laps (95) in the session.

There were no incidents in the 80-minute session.
