Tonight’s Cup race at Kansas: Start time, lineup and more

Martin Truex Jr. seeks to win his third consecutive race at Kansas Speedway tonight. Kevin Harvick (Atlanta and Las Vegas) and Kyle Busch (Texas) have won the previous races on 1.5-mile tracks this season. Will someone else win tonight’s race or will it be a familiar face taking the checkered flag?

Here are all the details for tonight’s race.

(All times are Eastern)

START: The command to start engines will be given at 8:01 p.m. The green flag is scheduled to wave at 8:10 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is scheduled for 267 laps (400.5 miles) around the 1.5-mile track.

STAGES: Stage 1 ends on Lap 80. Stage 2 ends on Lap 160.

COMPETITION CAUTION: Lap 30

PRERACE SCHEDULE: Garage opens at 2:30 p.m. Driver/crew chief meeting is at 6 p.m. Driver introductions are at 7:20 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Reviver Records recording artist Michael Tyler will perform the anthem at 7:55 p.m.

TV/RADIO: Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the race beginning at 8 p.m. Coverage begins at 7 p.m. Motor Racing Network’s radio broadcast begins at 7 p.m. and also can be heard at mrn.com. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will have MRN’s broadcast.

FORECAST: wunderground.com calls for cloudy skies with a high of 81 degrees and 15 percent chance of rain at the start of the race.

LAST TIME: Martin Truex Jr. swept both races last year. In the spring, he finished ahead of Brad Keselowski and Kevin Harvick. In the fall playoff race, Truex finished ahead of Kurt Busch and Ryan Blaney.
