Joey Logano led the field to green on lap 172 and kept the field at bay to snap a 36-race winless streak. It was his third win at Talladega in the last six races, but the first time since 2011 that he finished better than 25th in the spring race.
This was Team Penske’s 108th win. Logano and Brad Keselowski have accounted for six of the last eight wins on this track. Keselowski was involved in the 14-car pileup on Lap 166 and finished 33rd.
Kurt Busch finished second, which was his sixth top 10 in the last eight Talladega races.
Chase Elliott finished third and was the only Chevrolet driver among the top eight.
David Ragan finished sixth, extending his streak of Talladega top 10s to three.
