Daniel Hemric wins Xfinity pole at Talladega

Daniel Hemric qualified first for today’s Xfinity Series race at Talladega Superspeedway, earning his second pole of the year.

The Richard Childress Racing driver scored the pole with a speed of 189.402 mph.

Hemric also won the pole for the season-opener at Daytona.

Though he qualified second, Elliott Sadler (188.775 mph) will start from the rear after the engine was changed in his No. 1 Chevrolet.

The top five was completed by Spencer Gallagher, John Hunter Nemechek and Michael Annett.

This is the second time Gallagher has qualified in the top five. The first time was in the season-opener at Daytona.

Sadler is one of the four Dash 4 Cash drivers, including Matt Tifft (10th), Austin Cindric (11th) and Christopher Bell (13th).

The Sparks Energy 300 is set to start at 3 p.m. ET on Fox.
