Jimmie Johnson has taken to social media to provide inspirational tweets for his fans, and more importantly for himself, according to Jeff Burton during Monday’s edition of NASCAR America.
“(Johnson is) reminding himself and his fan base and the haters that, look: ‘I am a seven-time champion. I do know how to win’ ” Burton said.
“In the industry, everybody has so much respect for Jimmie Johnson because of the preparation that he puts in – the effort that he puts in, physical, mental,” Burton continued. “All of those things are the recipe for winning seven championships and now they can’t get a top 10. Jimmie is still that champion and they’re not getting results. So it’s his way of reminding himself and everybody around him they didn’t forget how to win.”
Earlier Monday, Johnson tweeted a quote by Babe Ruth.

“I think we’re seeing a mental state in Jimmie Johnson we haven’t seen before,” Landon Cassill said. “Because the way he’s typically addressed the haters in the past is just by poking at them on Twitter. But now, he’s taking a much more serious approach and kind of using some quotes my Mom sends me on a daily basis.”
