Martin Truex Jr. topped Saturday morning’s practice for the STP 500 with a speed of 95.752 mph. His fastest lap was set early in the session. He also had the quickest 10-lap average.
Brad Keselowski (95.646) landed second on the chart, .022 seconds behind Truex.
Kyle Busch, Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch rounded out the top five.
Kyle Larson was quickest on longer runs with the best 15-, 20- and 30-lap averages.
Paul Menard, who hopes to give the Wood Brothers their 100th win on their home track, struggled to find single lap speed. He landed 23rd on the chart with a lap of 94.176 mph.
