Cup race at Atlanta under way after rain delay

HAMPTON, Georgia – After a rain delay of more than two hours, the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500 at Atlanta Motor Speedway is under way.

The race went green at 3:32 p.m. ET.

The race was originally scheduled to begin at 1:06 p.m. ET.

There is still the threat of rain in the area. A race is deemed official after the completion of Stage 2, which ends on Lap 170 at Atlanta.

There will be a NASCAR-mandated caution on Lap 30.
