Matt Kenseth currently isn’t driving in the Cup Series, but his dry wit hasn’t left him.
With many of his former NASCAR peers boarding airplanes to head south for Wednesday’s Daytona 500 Media Day and Thursday night’s qualifying races, Kenseth posted one of his rare (but often droll) tweets Tuesday afternoon of his family about to take flight.
Can’t believe it’s already that time of year... pic.twitter.com/w1vKlJmHV8

The two-time Daytona 500 winner had competed in the Great American Race for the past 18 seasons. But after losing his ride at Joe Gibbs Racing and revealing last November he was stepping away from NASCAR, Kenseth surely wasn’t intimating he was headed to Daytona with his wife, Katie, and their four daughters.
Right?
For about four hours, the tweet left the NASCAR Twitter-sphere playfully pondering where Kenseth could be headed.
What’s he up to? 🤔 https://t.co/7ck5yEib6Z

Four hours later, Kenseth finally revealed his destination.
That’s right....family ski trip! pic.twitter.com/mtOLB6ZltQ

Enjoy the slopes, Matt. Your deadpan humor will leave a void at Daytona for the first time in 18 years.
