Friday’s schedule for Cup, Xfinity at Charlotte

The Cup Series kicks off its second round of the playoffs with Sunday’s Bank of America 500, while the Xfinity Series holds its first cut-off race in Saturday’s Drive for The Cure 300. Both series will be on track today to prepare for those events.

Today’s action at the 1.5-mile track includes NASCAR Cup practice and qualifying, while the Xfinity Series has two practice sessions.

12:30 – 9 p.m. – Xfinity garage open

1:30 – 2:55 p.m. – Cup practice (NBCSN)

3 – 3:55 p.m. – Xfinity practice (NBCSN)

6 – 6:55 p.m. – Final Xfinity practice (NBCSN)

7:20 p.m. – Cup qualifying; multi-car/three rounds (NBCSN, Performance Racing Network, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)
