Ryan Blaney tops chart in marathon Xfinity test at Charlotte

CONCORD, N.C. -- Ryan Blaney claimed the fastest speed of 23 Xfinity Series drivers during a seven-hour test session Tuesday at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

Driving Team Penske’s No. 12 Ford, Blaney posted a top speed of 184.590 mph on the fourth of 88 laps he recorded around the 1.5-mile track.

Filling out the top five was Brandon Jones (183.524), Tyler Reddick (183.443), Elliott Sadler (182.989) and Brennan Poole (182.322).

Ben Kennedy made his first laps of the season in the No. 96 Chevrolet for GMS Racing and was 14th fastest (180.814).

In his first action in an Xfinity car, Christopher Bell was 15th fastest (180.747) after 150 laps.

Brad Keselowski was 16th quickest and Kevin Harvick was 18th.
