What better way to enhance this year’s 1985-1989 Throwback Weekend theme at Darlington Raceway than with some true classic rock from the same era?
That’s what the track will do for the Bojangles’ Southern 500 on Sept. 3 with a special pre-race concert by Bret Michaels, lead singer of the iconic rock group Poison.
While Poison won’t be with Michaels, he’ll sing a number of the songs they made famous, as well as from his own hits catalog as a solo artist.
“Michaels, with the band Poison, was one of the top rock acts in the late 80’s, which fits into our celebration years of 1985-89 extremely well,” Darlington Raceway president Kerry Tharp said in a media release.
