NASCAR Cup veterans have fun with what they know -- or don’t know -- about 2017 rookies

Veteran NASCAR drivers take a rookie test to see who knows what about Erik Jones, Ty Dillon and Daniel Suarez.

When you’re a seasoned veteran, sometimes you forget what it was like to be a rookie on the NASCAR Cup circuit.

Then again, when it comes to talking about or knowing some of today’s rookies, the veterans sometimes make themselves look like a rookie too.

That was the case recently when NASCAR America quizzed Cup drivers about this year’s rookie crop of Ty Dillon, Daniel Suarez and Erik Jones.

Among the vets who thought they knew the rookies were Matt Kenseth, Ryan Newman, Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, Martin Truex Jr. and Jamie McMurray.

Here’s some of the questions poised (see if you can answer them correctly):

Who likes working on old Volkswagens?

Which driver owns a lot of plants?

Who is a neat freak?

Which driver likes scuba diving?

Check out the “test” in the video above.
