Ozzy Osbourne, Jim Rome to take part in Sunday’s Cup race at Texas

Legendary rocker Ozzy Osbourne always has wanted to go to a NASCAR race.

Sunday, the solo and Black Sabbath star finally will get his chance as he attends the O’Reilly Auto Parts 500 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Not only will Ozzy and son Jack (see video above) be spectators, they also will be part of the prerace activities as Honorary Race Directors.

Ozzy says he’s not just excited but “double excited” to be at the track. Both will give the “Drivers To Your Cars” command and also will ride in one of the official Chevrolet SS pace cars that will lead the field to the green.

Ozzy has released 11 solo albums in his career, and including his tenure with Black Sabbath, has sold more than 100 million albums.

The star of the popular “The Osbournes” reality TV show, Ozzy also was inducted with Black Sabbath into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Father and son Osbourne currently are seen in “Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour” on the History Channel.

Also having a role in Sunday’s event will be CBS Sports Radio and Showtime sports talk show host Jim Rome, who will serve as Grand Marshal for the race and will give the command to drivers to start their engines.
