Today’s Cup race at Las Vegas: Start time, weather, TV/radio info

Brad Keselowski seeks his second consecutive victory of the season and his second win in a row at Las Vegas Motor Speedway today, but he’ll face many challengers.

Here are the particulars on today’s race (all times are Eastern):

START: Singer John Fogerty will give the command for drivers to start engines at 3:37 p.m. ET. The green flag is scheduled for 3:46 p.m.

DISTANCE: The race is scheduled for 267 laps (400.5 miles) around the 1.5-mile oval.

PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Cup garage opens at 10 a.m. The drivers meeting is at 1:30 p.m. Driver introductions are at 3 p.m.

NATIONAL ANTHEM: Night Ranger will perform the Anthem at 3:31 p.m. with 2 F-15s and 2 F-22s providing the flyby.

TV/RADIO: Fox will broadcast the race at 3:30 p.m. with coverage beginning at 1:30 p.m. on Fox Sports 1. Performance Racing Network will broadcast the race on radio and at GoPRN.com. PRN’s coverage begins at 2:30 p.m. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will carry PRN’s broadcast.

FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts 84 degrees at race time with a 0 percent chance of rain at the start of the race.

LAST YEAR: Brad Keselowski took the lead with six laps to go and went on to win last year’s race. Joey Logano finished second to give Team Penske a 1-2 finish. Jimmie Johnson placed third.
