NASCAR’s hibernation ends with the first race since November. Yes, it’s a non-points race and has a 17-car field, but it marks the first race of Daytona Speedweeks and comes eight days before the Daytona 500.
Here is all the information for tonight’s race.

START: Marcus Herman, owner of Triangle Auto of Merritt Island, will give the command to start engines at 8:12 p.m. The green flag is scheduled for 8:24 p.m.
DISTANCE: The non-points race is scheduled for 75 laps (187.5 miles) around the 2.5-mile track.
SEGMENTS: A competition caution will split the race into two segments. The first segment will be 25 laps. The second segment will be 50 laps.
PRERACE SCHEDULE: The Sprint Cup garage opens at 8:30 a.m.. The driver/crew chief meeting is at 6:15 p.m. Driver introductions are at 7:40 p.m.
NATIONAL ANTHEM: Candace Walker will perform the National Anthem at 8:06 p.m.
TV/RADIO: Fox Sports 1 will broadcast the race. Coverage begins at 8 p.m. Motor Racing Network’s radio broadcast begins at 7 p.m. and also can be heard at mrn.com. SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will have MRN’s broadcast.
FORECAST: The wunderground.com site predicts a temperature of 67 degrees with a 35 percent chance of rain at the start of the race.
LAST TIME: Denny Hamlin won a crash-filled race last year. Ten of the 25 cars in last year’s field failed to finish because of an accident. Hamlin’s victory was his second in three years in the event. Joe Gibbs Racing has won this event three consecutive years.
