NASCAR America: Drivers share Valentine’s Day war stories

NASCAR America returns from its offseason hiatus at 6 pm ET Monday on NBCSN. The day after that is Valentine’s Day.

During the NASCAR Media Tour last month, we asked drivers for the best or worst Valentine’s Day stories.

Here’s some of the responses we received.

Landon Cassill: “There may be a year where I completely for about Valentine’s Day. So we’re not talking about that.”

Erik Jones“All I remember from Valentine’s Day is getting those little cards, I don’t know if they even sell them anymore, at school. You’d pass them out to everybody and then you’d get the disgusting candies back.”

Chase Elliott: “My mom sent me some chocolates down to Daytona last year or maybe it was the year before with a little care package, which was very cool and nice of her.”

Brad Keselowski: “Here’s the thing about Valentine’s Day. It happens to fall really close to my birthday (Feb. 12), and I was supposed to be born on it. So usually Valentine’s Day turns into, ‘All right, we’ll celebrate your birthday.’ And we celebrate Valentine’s Day at the same time.”

Danica Patrick: On Valentine’s Day last year Ricky (Stenhouse Jr.) and I agreed not to crash each other on the race track … It was good, we almost did, but we didn’t.”
