Grant Enfinger has joined ThorSport Racing as its fourth driver. He’ll drive the No. 98 in the Camping World Truck Series.
Enfinger, the winner of the Truck Series’ Talladega race last year, will compete in his first full-time season in the series.
A native of Fairhope, Alabama, Enfinger will attempt to win Rookie of the Year honors at the age of 32. Enfinger joins Matt Crafton, Ben Rhodes and fellow rookie Cody Coughlin at ThorSport Racing.
“I’m extremely grateful to ThorSport Racing and Toyota for the opportunity to drive full-time in the NASCAR Camping World truck series,” Enfinger said in a press release. “This is a dream come true, and I’m blessed to be able to share this season with some great people … I’m very impressed with the people, equipment, and facility that Duke and Rhonda Thorson have assembled, and I can’t wait to get to Daytona in a few weeks.”
Enfinger is the 2015 ARCA Racing Series champion and has 15 wins in the series. He has 14 Truck Series starts – eight last year with GMS Racing in the No. 24 truck. He won the pole for the season-opener at Daytona.
Crew chief duties on the No. 98 have been given to Jeff Hensley, who returns to ThorSport after working with Johnny Sauter in 2014 and Cameron Hayley in 2015.
The No. 98 will have three primary sponsors throughout the season, including Champion Power Equipment, RACE TV and JIVE Communications.
Enfinger will begin his pursuit of the Truck title and Rookie of the Year honors on Feb. 24 at Daytona International Speedway.
