Kevin Harvick will compete in select Xfinity Series races for Stewart-Haas Racing in 2017, the team announced Thursday.

Harvick will drive the No. 41 Ford Mustang sponsored by Hunt Brothers Pizza, which has been with Harvick since 2011.

Harvick, who has 46 Xfinity wins, will initially compete April 8 at Texas Motor Speedway, May 27 at Charlotte Motor Speedway, July 7 at Kentucky Speedway and Sept. 2 at Darlington Raceway.

The announcement means SHR, in its first season of Xfinity competition, will field two cars in select races as Cole Custer competes full-time in the No. 00 Ford Mustang.

“I’ve always enjoyed competing in the Xfinity Series,” Harvick said in a press release. “With Stewart-Haas Racing starting a new program, I’m excited to be a part of the building process because it will make us stronger going forward as a company. I’m proud to continue working with Hunt Brothers Pizza and seeing their colors on my Ford Mustang.”

On Wednesday, it was announced Harvick would be a Fox Sports analyst for eight Xfinity and Camping World Truck Series races.
