Kurt Busch

CREW CHIEF: Tony Gibson (35 races), Johnny Klausmeier (one race)

TEAM: Stewart-Haas Racing

WINS: 1 (Pocono I)

Top 5s: 9

TOP 10s: 21 (tied 2015 total)

POLES: 2 (Atlanta, Las Vegas)

WHAT WENT RIGHT: Won poles for two of the first three races of the year at Atlanta and Las Vegas Motor Speedway … Saved enough fuel to win the first Pocono race of the season, giving him at least one win in 13 of 16 full-time seasons in the Cup Series … Qualified for the Chase and advanced to the third round … Set record by finishing every lap in the first 22 races of the year.

WHAT WENT WRONG: Recorded two DNFs (Bristol II and Darlington) … Eliminated from Chase after third round … Only three top fives in Chase … Crew chief Tony Gibson was suspended for the first Pocono race for violating NASCAR’s lug nut rule.

WHAT TO EXPECT IN 2016: In his fourth season with Stewart-Haas Racing, Busch will once again drive a Ford, the manufacturer behind Busch’s 2004 Cup Series championship.
