Tony Stewart’s final Sprint Cup start ended with the three-time champion in 22nd-place, two laps down.
But “Smoke” was all smiles after exiting his No. 14 Chevrolet for the last time, saying the highlight of his day was a long line of team members who lined up to high hive Stewart as he left pit road.
Stewart then joined Jimmie Johnson on the front stretch to celebrate his record-tying seventh Sprint Cup title. Johnson then gave Stewart the helmet he had worn all season commemorating his quest for the title.
