AVONDALE, Ariz. -- Chase contender William Byron posted the fastest lap in the first of two practice sessions Friday for the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series.
Byron posted a fast lap at 135.967 mph.
He was followed by Ben Rhodes (135.793 mph), Noah Gragson (135.706), Chase contender Matt Crafton (135.237) and Daniel Suarez (134.887). Gragson is making his series debut this weekend, driving for Kyle Busch Motorsports. He’ll drive for the team full time next season.
Byron was one of only five drivers who ran 10 consecutive laps in the session. He posted the best average at 133.871 mph.
