Grammy Award winner Sting will perform Dec. 2 at the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards at Wynn Las Vegas.
The event honors this year’s series champion and recognizes the 16 Chase drivers.
NBCSN will have complete coverage of the event from Wynn Las Vegas. NASCAR America will air at 7 p.m. ET, followed by red carpet coverage at 8 p.m. ET and the awards program at 9 p.m. ET.
Sting will perform both a classic hit and a selection from his new album 57th and 9th, which will be released Friday. It’s his 12th studio album and first rock/pop project in more than a decade. His song “Petrol Head” is the anthem for NASCAR’s upcoming social video release in anticipation of the final two races of the season. Sting earned six Grammy Awards as a member of The Police.
Former musicians who have performed at the NASCAR’s championship celebration include Andy Grammar, Lady Antebellum, John Mellencamp and Kid Rock.
