Ryan Blaney was fastest in the second Sprint Cup practice at Texas Motor Speedway for Sunday’s AAA Texas 500.
Blaney put down a top speed of 188.515 mph around the 1.5-mile track.
The Wood Brothers Racing driver led an atypical top six in the 55-minute session.
He was followed by AJ Allmendinger (188.508), Ricky Stenhouse Jr. (187.846), Casey Mears (187.826), Paul Menard (187.572) and Michael McDowell (187.520).
Joey Logano was the fastest Chase driver in ninth.
Carl Edwards had the best 10-lap average at 183.137 mph.
