Greg Ives, crew chief on the No. 88 Chevrolet in the Sprint Cup Series, has been fined $10,000 for violating NASCAR’s revised lug nut rule.

The penalty is a P2 level penalty, meaning only one lug nut was not fixed properly.

Ives, the crew chief for Alex Bowman and Jeff Gordon as Dale Earnhardt Jr. recovers from a concussion, is the third crew chief to be penalized since NASCAR revised its lug nut rules in September.

The crew chiefs for Greg Biffle and Aric Almirola were fined for P3 level violations after the Chicagoland race.
