With 185 laps recorded in the Citizen Soldier 400 at Dover International Speedway, Kyle Larson finds himself in 31st, five laps down and outside of the top 12 drivers who will advance in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.
Larson entered the last race of the first round as the bubble driver on the Chase grid.
His issues began during the first caution of the day, when his No. 42 Chevrolet lost power after leaving the pits.
Larson returned to the pits. After power returned, he left his pit box as the field came to the green flag. Larson was a lap down when NASCAR issued a pass-through penalty for having too many crew members over the wall.
Larson drove through pit road on Lap 47 and returned to the track three laps down.
Then on Lap 183, Larson appeared to lose a tire before pancaking the outside wall to bring out the second caution of the day.
