Kurt Busch says the most important part of any championship run is a crew chief who can keep the house in order.

In a live, in-studio appearance on Thursday, Kurt Busch told the NASCAR America team that the most important part of any championship run is a crew chief who can keep the house in order.

Busch knows what he’s talking about: Jimmy Fennig was the man on the pit box that led the older Busch brother and his then-Roush Fenway Racing team to the 2004 inaugural Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

Busch has had veteran crew chief Tony Gibson on the pit box since the final three races of the 2014 season and certainly has the ability to take Busch and his 2016 Stewart-Haas Racing team to this year’s championship, as well.
