NASCAR has issued a P3 penalty to the No. 43 team from Richard Petty Motorsports as well as the No. 16 team from Roush Fenway Racing following a lug nut infraction at Chicagoland Speedway.

Drew Blickensderfer, crew chief for Aric Almirola, and Brian Pattie, crew chief for Greg Biffle, have each been fined $10,000. Both teams were found with “lug nut(s) not properly installed” on Sunday.

All cars are stopped at the entrance to pit road following an event for NASCAR officials to do a lug nut check. The rule was implemented in April.

Biffle finished 26th in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 400 while Almirola finished 32nd.
