Hendrick Motorsports has announced it and Great Clips have extended their sponsorship deal on the No. 5 of Kasey Kahne through 2018.
Great Clips will sponsor the No. 5 for 10 races each season while also serving as an associate sponsor. The hair salon franchise has been a primary sponsor of the No. 5 since it was on it for three races in 2013. It has sponsored the car in 10 races each year since.
The Minneapolis-based company has been a supporter of Kahne since 2003.
“Great Clips has believed in me throughout my career,” Kahne said in a press release. “They’re a big part of the No. 5 team, and we feel like members of their team, too. It’s been an awesome partnership, and I’m grateful for their commitment and support. It means a lot to represent them on and off the track.”
Kahne has had Great Clips on his car eight times through the first 27 races of this season.
Kahne missed out on this years’ Chase for the Sprint Cup. He’s been left out of the postseason two years in a row. Since Kahne joined Hendrick in 2012, he has three Chase berths and five wins with the No. 5 team.
