The Sprint Cup Series begins its Chase for the Championship this weekend, but the Camping World Truck and Xfinity Series will be finalizing their playoff fields.

Six drivers have locked up spots in the eight-driver Truck Chase heading into Friday night’s race at Chicagoland Speedway. Those who have clinched Chase spots are William Byron (five wins), Matt Crafton (two), John Hunter Nemechek (two), Johnny Sauter (one), Ben Kennedy (one), and Christopher Bell (one).

Daniel Hemric and Timothy Peters occupy the final two spots on the Chase grid. Hemric holds a 56-point advantage on Cole Custer, who sits ninth. Peters has a 32-point advantage on Custer.

It leaves those on the outside all but needing a win to earn a Chase berth.

As for the Xfinity Series, there are also two spots left on the Chase grid with 10 drivers locked in. Those who are in via a win are Erik Jones (three wins), Elliott Sadler (two), and Daniel Suarez (one).

Seven others have earned a spot based on points. They are Justin Allgaier, Ty Dillon, Brendan Gaughan, Brennan Poole, Brandon Jones, Darrell Wallace Jr., and Ryan Reed.

Blake Koch and Ryan Sieg are the two drivers looking to hang onto their Chase berths on Saturday.

Here are the clinch scenarios (via NASCAR) for the Drive for Safety 300:

  • Blake Koch (0 wins, 570 points) – Would clinch on points with 39 points (second and no laps led, third and led at least one lap, fourth and led most laps) and a new winner. Would clinch on points with a repeat winner and 19 points (22nd and no laps led, 23rd and led at least one lap, 24th and led most laps). With a win, would clinch a Chase spot on wins.
  • Ryan Sieg (0 wins, 567 points) – Would clinch on points with a repeat winner (or Blake Koch win) and 22 points (19th and no laps led, 20th and led at least one lap, 21st and led most laps). With a win, would clinch a Chase spot on wins. Could clinch on points with a new winner and help (needs to outpoint Blake Koch by three points and give up 19 or 20 – depending on tie-breakers – or less to Dakoda Armstrong points and 28 or 29 points or less to Jeremy Clements).
  • Dakoda Armstrong (0 wins, 547 points,) – With a win, he would clinch a Chase spot on wins. Could clinch on points with help (needs to outpoint all three of the following if a new winner or two out of three if there is a repeat winner: Ryan Sieg by 20 points (if he finishes third or higher) or 21 points with a worse finish, Blake Koch by 23 points and give up eight or less points to Jeremy Clements).
  • Jeremy Clements (0 wins, 538 points) – With a win, would clinch a Chase spot on wins. Could clinch on points with help (needs to outpoint all three if a new winner or two out of three if there is a repeat winner: Dakoda Armstrong by nine points, Ryan Sieg by 29 or 30 points and Blake Koch by 32 points).

There are five drivers who can only make the Chase if they win the race. They are Ross Chastain, Ryan Preece, Ray Black Jr., B.J. McLeod, and Joey Gase.
