NASCAR has docked Furniture Row Racing 10 championship owner and drivers points after the No. 78 of Martin Truex Jr. failed post-race laser inspection at the Federated Auto Parts 400 for a P2 level violation. The loss of driver points does not impact Truex’ seeding in the Chase.

Truex is still seeded sixth with 2006 points. Crew chief Cole Pearn has also been fined $15,000.

The penalties are not as severe as those leveled against Ryan Newman’s team after his car failed post-race laser inspection at Darlington. That violation was a P3 level penalty. Newman was docked 15 driver points and crew chief Luke Lambert was fined $25,000, while the team lost 15 owner points.
