Points leader Kevin Harvick will start on the pole for Sunday’s Southern 500 at Darlington Raceway after the lineup was set by the rule book when all track activity Friday was canceled because of tropical storm Hermine.
Only once in the last 26 Sprint Cup races at Darlington Raceway has the driver who started on the pole won the race. Harvick did that in the 2014 Southern 500.
He’ll be joined on the front row by Brad Keselowski. The second row has defending race winner Carl Edwards and Kurt Busch.
The Southern 500 airs Sunday on NBC.
