NASCAR weekend schedule at Darlington, Canadian Tire Motorsports Park

It’s a throwback and throwdown weekend for NASCAR. The Xfinity Series and Sprint Cup Series are at Darlington Raceway for the throwback weekend, which culminates with Sunday night’s Southern 500 on NBC. The Camping World Truck Series runs on the road course at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park where anything is possible.

Due to Hurricane Hermine, qualifying for both the Xfinity and Sprint Cup Series have been canceled and the fields will be set by the rule book. Sprint Cup will have two practice sessions, Xfinity teams will have one.

Here’s a look at this weekend’s schedule for each of the three series.

AT DARLINGTON RACEWAY

Friday, Sept. 2

Friday scheduled postponed due to Tropical Storm Hermine.

 

Saturday, Sept. 3

6 a.m. – Xfinity Series garage opens

7 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. – Sprint Cup garage open

9 – 9:55 a.m. – Final Xfinity practice (No TV)

11 a.m – 12:25 p.m. – Cup practice (CNBC, NBCSN simulcast beginning at 11:30, MRN)

1:15 p.m. – Xfinity driver/crew chief meeting

1:30 – 2:50 p.m. – Final Cup practice (NBCSN, MRN)

3 p.m. – Xfinity driver introductions

3:30 p.m. – VFW Sport Clips Help A Hero 200 Xfinity race; 147 laps, 200.8 miles (NBC, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)

Sunday, Sept. 4

Noon – Sprint Cup garage opens

4 p.m. – Driver/crew chief meeting

5:25 p.m. – Driver introductions

6 p.m. – Bojangles’ Southern 500; 367 laps, 501.3 miles (NBC, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)

AT CANADIAN TIRE MOTORSPORTS PARK

Saturday, Sept. 3

8 a.m. – 7 p.m. – Camping World Truck Series garage open

9:30 – 10:25 a.m. – Truck practice (No TV)

11:35 a.m. – 12:55 p.m. – Final Truck practice (No TV)

5:45 p.m. – Truck qualifying; multi-vehicle/two rounds (Fox Sports 2)

Sunday, Sept. 4

9 a.m. – Truck garage opens

10:30 a.m. – Truck driver/crew chief meeting

2 p.m. – Driver introductions

2:30 p.m. – Truck race; 64 laps, 157.37 miles (Fox Sports 1, MRN, SiriusXM NASCAR Radio)
