Friday action at Darlington postponed due to threat of Hurricane Hermine

NASCAR America discusses what the lack of practice will mean for some drivers at Darlington heading into this weekend's race.

With Tropical Storm Hermine approaching the East Coast, NASCAR has gone ahead and announced the postponement of all Friday activity at Darlington Raceway.

NASCAR has announced a new schedule for Saturday, which includes the cancellation of both qualifying sessions.

Darlington is hosting both the Sprint Cup and Xfinity Series this weekend. Friday was intended to include two practice sessions for both series.

Rain is not expected to impact track activity for Saturday and Sunday.

The forecast at wunderground.com predicts a partly cloudy day on Saturday with chances of rain peaking at 35 percent late at night. the Xfinity race is tentatively scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. ET.

The forecast for Sunday is Sunny with a high of 84 degrees and no chance of rain. The Southern 500 is scheduled to start at 6 p.m. ET.
