Paul Menard will seek to give the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing team its third consecutive Xfinity Series victory with its third different driver Saturday at Darlington Raceway.
Only once before in Xfinity history has a car won three races in a row with three different drivers. Joe Gibbs Racing’s No. 18 won three straight races in 2008 with Kyle Busch (Mexico City), Tony Stewart (Talladega) and Denny Hamlin (Richmond) driving the car.
RCR’s No. 2 car won two weeks ago at Bristol with Austin Dillon and won last weekend at Road America with Michael McDowell.
Menard’s best Xfinity finish at Darlington is 10th in 2010.
The No. 2 RCR car has finished in the top two in the last four races with four different drivers: Menard (2nd at Watkins Glen), Sam Hornish Jr. (2nd at Mid-Ohio), Dillon (1st at Bristol) and McDowell (1st at Road America).
Saturday’s Xfinity race at Darlington airs on NBC.
