National Highway Traffic Administration sponsoring Xfinity Chicagoland race

Xfinity Chicago

Chicagoland Speedway has announced that its Sept. 17 Xfinity Series race will be sponsored by the National Highway Traffic Administration.

The race at the 1.5-mile track will be called the Drive for Safety 300.

The race is the regular season finale for the Xfinity Series before the start of the series’ inaugural Chase the following weekend at Kentucky Speedway.

Kyle Busch is the defending winner of the race.

The last two fall Xfinity races at Chicago were sponsored by the film “Furious 7" and Jimmy John’s.

The Drive for Safety 300 will air Sept. 17 on NBC.
