Kyle Busch gets loose, spins off Turn 4 at Michigan (video)

Kyle Busch goes spinning into the grass in the No. 18 but is able to get enough traction to make it back onto the track after rain the previous day.

Kyle Busch’s sardonic love for Michigan International Speedway added a new chapter early in the Pure Michigan 400.

Having previously expressed his displeasure for the infield grass at the 2-mile oval after an August 2015 practice crash, Busch found himself there again Sunday on Lap 27. The No. 18 Toyota got loose in Turn 4, and Busch spun into the infield. He did not suffer any major damage but limped to pit road with flat tires and fell a lap down in the process.

“Have I ever mentioned how I absolutely adore this place?” Busch said on the radio following the spin.

In 23 previous starts at Michigan, Busch has scored just six top 10 finishes. He also has three DNF’s and has led only 179 laps. In the June 12 race, Busch finished last because of an engine failure.
