NASCAR Sprint Cup test taking place Tuesday, Wednesday at Chicagoland Speedway

UPDATE: NASCAR announced the session would be cut to one day with Tuesday’s session going to 9 p.m. The change was made because of rain in the forecast Wednesday.

Twelve NASCAR Sprint Cup teams are scheduled to take part in an organizational test Tuesday and Wednesday at Chicagoland Speedway.

At such a test, each organization is allowed to bring one team.

The Sprint Cup playoffs begin Sept. 18 at Chicagoland Speedway.

This test features five drivers who have scored wins to be eligible for the Chase: Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, Chris Buescher and Jimmie Johnson. Tuesday’s weather calls for temperatures to reach the low 80s. Rain is in the forecast for Wednesday at the Joliet, Illinois, track.

Kevin Harvick (Stewart-Haas Racing)

Trevor Bayne (Roush Fenway Racing)

Kyle Busch (Joe Gibbs Racing)

Ryan Blaney (Wood Brothers Racing)

Joey Logano (Team Penske)

David Ragan (BK Racing)

Ryan Newman (Richard Childress Racing)

Chris Buescher (Front Row Motorsports)

Brian Scott (Richard Petty Motorsports)

Jimmie Johnson (Hendrick Motorsports)

Michael McDowell (Circle Sport - Leavine Family Racing)
