Kyle Busch leads the way in opening Sprint Cup practice at Bristol

Kyle Busch led the way in Friday’s first practice at Bristol Motor Speedway with a lap of 128.969 mph.

He was followed by Denny Hamlin (128.649 mph), Kyle Larson (128.597), Chase Elliott (128.511) and Aric Almirola (128.503).

Joey Logano, who is seeking to win the Bristol night race for a third consecutive year, was 22nd on the speed chart with a lap of 127.682 mph. Jeff Gordon, driving in place of Dale Earnhardt Jr., was 11th on the speed chart with a top lap of 128.116 mph.
