Austin Cindric back for three Truck races with Brad Keselowski Racing

BKR

Austin Cindric is set to race a third entry for Brad Keselowski Racing in three Camping World Truck Series races this season.

Cindric, 17, will start the No. 2 Truck at Bristol Motor Speedway next Wednesday, then at Canadian Tire Motorsport Park (Sept. 4) and Talladega Superspeedway (Oct. 22).

Cindric, who won the K&N Pro Series East race at Watkins Glen last week, made two starts for BKR last season at Martinsville (finished 25th) and Phoenix (14th).

Cindric was supposed to race this season at Dover on May 13, but rain canceled qualifying denying him the chance to make it into the race.

“I’m really grateful to have the opportunity to run three more races with Brad Keselowski Racing at three tracks that are so diverse; I’m definitely being thrown into the deep end of the pool again going into Bristol,” Cindric said in a press release. “The most important thing I need right now is laps under my belt. The team has a great history at Bristol and excellent knowledge of that track.”

BKR has won two of the last three Truck races at Bristol with Keselowski and Ryan Blaney. After four wins in 2015, BKR has yet to visit victory lane in the first 12 races of 2016.

Cindric was meant to test at Bristol earlier this year but the session was called off due to track maintenance.

“From what I understand, Dover is actually like a bigger version of Bristol, so that gives me a little bit of confidence, especially with how quickly we got up to speed and how fast our Ford F-150 was there,” Cindric said. “I’ve learned a lot more about how to drive a truck and a stock car since my past experience at Phoenix and Dover. We’ll just go to Bristol and be a sponge.”
