Ashley Stremme, wife of former NASCAR driver David Stremme, won the title of Mrs. United States on Thursday night at the Palms Hotel in Las Vegas.

Stremme won the Mrs. North Carolina crown May 29 to compete in the national event. Victory Junction Gang Camp was her platform. An advocate for disabled children, she had a sister born with severe medical complications and eventually became wheelchair bound. Upon her sister’s passing, Ashley Stremme became passionate about helping children live without limitations.

She earned a B.A. in Information Technology Leadership from Washington & Jefferson College. She has done broadcasting work and appears with David Stremme on Motor Racing Network’s show “Slinging Dirt” and she has co-hosted MRN’s “Winged Nation” show.

David Stremme raced in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series from 2005-14. He competed 200 races with a top finish of eighth in the spring 2007 Talladega race for Chip Ganassi Racing. David Stremme also competed in 146 Xfinity races from 2003-08 and in 2011. He finished a career-high second three times in that series (Milwaukee in 2004, Talladega in 2008 and Nashville in 2008). He ran in four Camping World Truck Series races between 2006-11 with a best finish of ninth at Bristol in 2008.
