NASCAR America: safety enhancements coming for 2017

In addition to the low downforce package being run at Michigan, NASCAR also announced safety enhancements on Thursday morning for the superspeedways of Daytona and Talladega.

The areas affected include the front firewall and foot box, the rear roll cage behind the driver, the left side door of the driver compartment, as well as thicker anti-intrusion panels. Jeff Burton, Kyle Petty, and Parker Kligerman explain why those changes are important.
