Five Sprint Cup teams were given warnings Wednesday for inspection failures last weekend at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
For failing the laser inspection station twice in prerace, NASCAR warned the No. 5 Chevrolet of Kasey Kahne, the No. 27 Chevrolet of Paul Menard and the No. 83 Toyota of Matt DiBenedetto. It’s the fourth warning this season for DiBenedetto’s car, which means the team would lose pit selection for Sunday’s race at Pocono Raceway. It’s the first warning for Kahne and third for Menard.
NASCAR also issued warnings because the No. 41 Chevrolet of Kurt Busch and the No. 43 Ford of Aric Almirola failed template inspection twice before qualifying. It’s the second warning for both teams.
After every fourth warning, teams are stripped of pit stall selection for the next race.
In the Camping World Truck Series, Austin Wayne Self’s No. 22 team was warned for its trailing arms not meeting specifications on the opening day of inspection at Eldora Speedway.
