WATCH LIVE: NASCAR America at 6 p.m. ET: Jeff Gordon returns, Matt Kenseth penalized

Today’s episode of NASCAR America airs from 6 – 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN and will take a look at the two biggest topics in the NASCAR garage.

Jeff Gordon will make his return to Sprint Cup Series competition, substituting for Hendrick Motorsports teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr. With concussion-like symptoms keeping Earnhardt Jr. sidelined for at least the next two weeks, Gordon has been called upon to take over the No. 88 Chevrolet after retiring from competition at the end of the 2015 season.

Also included in today’s show will be a breakdown of Matt Kenseth’s penalty following New Hampshire. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver won for the second time in 2016 in the New Hampshire 301 but was given a P3 penalty on Wednesday after he failed post-race inspection.

If you’re not near a TV, you can watch online or on the NBC Sports app at the NASCAR stream on NBC Sports.
