Jimmie Johnson and the No. 48 team will use the Aug. 7 race at Watkins Glen International to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation.
While Johnson’s primary sponsor, Lowe’s, will still be on the hood, the car will have a special paint scheme commemorating the foundation that focuses on kindergarten - 12th grade education.
Johnson has sported the JJF on his car car before. The first time was in a 2006 Xfinity Series race at Auto Club Speedway. It has been on Johnson’s Sprint Cup car once a year since 2007, winning three times. WGI is one of four tracks Johnson has not won at in the Sprint Cup Series.
