First lightning and then rain. Then, track drying followed by more rain.
End result, weather won and NASCAR fans lost when it came to watching four scheduled practice sessions Thursday at Daytona International Speedway.
NASCAR officially pulled the plug on any chance of still trying to get in some semblance of limited practice for both Xfinity and Sprint Cup cars just before 7 p.m. ET Thursday night.
NASCAR announced Thursday night that Friday’s schedule will have two changes. First, the Xfinity Series will not have an additional practice session. Meanwhile, the Sprint Cup garage will open earlier at 8:30 a.m. ET and there will be one Cup practice session for 45 minutes from 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. ET (televised live on NBCSN).
The rest of the schedule for Friday remains the same.
