Just over a month after being injured in an accident at Eldora Speedway, former Sprint Cup driver Dave Blaney will return to sprint car racing tonight.

The father of current Sprint Cup driver Ryan Blaney will drive in the Arctic Cat All Star Circuit of Champions at Sharon Speedway in Hartford, Ohio, according to Speed Sport News.

Sharon Speedway, which the Blaneys co-own, is located about 117 miles east from Eldora, where Dave Blaney was in a qualifying crash that sent him to the hospital, but without serious injury.

“We’re excited to get back into night five of Ohio Sprint Speedweek competition,” Dave Blaney told Speed Sport. “I drove a modified at Brewerton Speedway (in New York) Friday and I felt really good.”

According to Speed Sport, the elder Blaney will return to Eldora Speedway to race with the Arctic Cat All Stars on Saturday.
